Classes (London, UK)
At present there is not a weekly Yoga/Pilates
group class. If you think you would be interested in in attending
one, please email me
with your preferred times and general (London) location. In the meantime, please see below for our
exciting 2010 Workshop Series. 2009-2010 Workshop Series -
Yoga and Pilates for Runners: From Mat to
This
workshop focuses on the way Pilates and yoga can be used together for
physical
and spiritual wellness, addressing the differences and similarities
between the
two. Joseph Pilates was himself a student of yoga and Zen and the two
may have
more in common than you think: Sets of principles, systematic use of
breath,
engagement of the inner body and the relationship between the so-called “core” and yoga’s Bandhas or locks. Find out how, paradoxically, core work can
make you more flexible, and stretching can make you stronger. You’ll take away the key elements of a short
but highly effective practice that should become an essential part of
your
running week. January 17th – Strong and Centred: A Yoga-Pilates Foundation for Runners February 21st – On Your Feet: Dynamic Standing Poses for Runners March 14th – Yoga for Aching Athletes: Relax, Repair and Restore April 18th – Yoga Philosophy and Sports Psychology: Preparation, Relaxation, Visualization |
